About Danville

Visiting Danville is an excellent way to learn more about its rich past. Before the town was built, the area was inhabited by Native Americans, who camped on Mount Diablo's peak in the summer. After then, it was used as a grazing pasture. The mining miners gave the town's name was given to it by the miners who landed there in 1849 when the gold rush arrived.

Danville is about 14 miles to the east of Oakland. The San Ramon Valley provides the setting for the town of San Ramon. With Mount Diablo in the backdrop, this is a breath-taking scene. The town's agricultural emphasis shifted from wheat to fruit and nut production when the Southern Pacific Railroad was built in 1891. Cattle and sheep grazing had a considerable impact on the local economy. In 1947, Danville was incorporated as a planned town.

The first post office in the country was established in Danville not long after that. The town's population grew due to significant media coverage of California's achievement.
