James Hardie Siding & Anlin Windows Installation in Richmond, CA 94804

Set in one of Richmond's established neighborhoods, this house traded its aging, mismatched siding for a clean James Hardie exterior in Monterey Taupe with crisp Arctic White trim. We stripped the home down to the studs across every wall, rebuilt the wall envelope from the sheathing out, and finished it with a fiber cement system that gives the place a fresh, durable face. The result is a warm, neutral exterior framed by bright window and corner trim that reads sharp from the street.

The work started with full demolition - removing all existing siding, trim, and skip sheathing down to the framing. Once the walls were open, our crew inspected the structural members and handled the dry rot we found inside the cavities, replacing damaged framing before anything went back up. We sheathed the walls in new 1/2-inch exterior-grade OSB for shear strength and passed the city's nailing inspection, then layered on HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at the window and door openings, and metal z-flashing to keep moisture out for the long haul.

Over that weather-tight assembly we installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Monterey Taupe, with 5/4-by-6 trim on the double garage door openings and 5/4-by-4 trim around windows, doors, and corners in Arctic White. We painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation to tie the exterior together, and replaced 22 windows with Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl units carrying the Infinit-e three-layer Low-E glass package for better year-round efficiency. Downspouts and house numbers were reinstalled once the new siding was up.
