The owners of this Foster City home wanted exterior siding that could stand up to the bayside weather and give the house a cleaner, more current look. We replaced the old cladding with James Hardie fiber cement and swapped out the windows for new Milgard units, leaving the home with a crisp blue-and-white exterior that holds its color and shrugs off coastal moisture.
The siding is HardiePlank lap in Boothbay Blue, trimmed in Arctic White with a Rustic Grain HardieTrim profile around the windows, corners, and edges. Fiber cement was the right call here given the marine air off the bay - it resists rot and warping in a way wood siding can't. Pairing the new Milgard replacement windows with the reside meant the whole envelope was tightened up at once, with clean trim details framing each opening.
