James Hardie Siding Installation in Danville, CA 94526
Working across the tall walls and tight access points on this Danville home took patience, and our crew set up safety staging to handle the heights carefully before a single board came down. We pulled off all the old siding and trim, re-sheathed the walls, and rebuilt the exterior around a fresh James Hardie system - keeping the existing stucco sections in place and tying the new siding into them cleanly. The result reads as one cohesive exterior, with crisp trim lines and a finish color that suits the house.
The walls wear James Hardie ColorPlus CedarMill lap siding in Monterey Taupe, installed primed and finished to match. Around every window, the patio door, and the corners, we ran 5/4-by-4 Hardie trim in Arctic White with its rustic grain texture, and we set a belly bend between the new siding and the existing stucco for a clean transition. Underneath, new 7/16-inch OSB sheathing gives the walls their shear strength - passing the city nailing inspection - and HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash window and door flashing, and metal z-flashing form the moisture-protection layer behind the boards.
Alongside the siding, we swapped in 15 Milgard Tuscany Series retrofit windows plus a slider, all carrying Low-E 366 glass with argon fill for year-round efficiency. The eaves were power-washed and painted to match the Hardie finish, the full exterior was primed and painted including the stucco, and the downspouts and house numbers were reset once the new siding was up.
