Siding & Milgard Windows Installation in El Sobrante, CA 94803
T1-11 panel siding was the right call for this El Sobrante home, giving the wall a clean vertical-groove cedar texture that holds up well on a tall, exposed elevation. Our crew tore off the existing siding and all the old trim around the doors, windows, and corners, then opened up the walls to inspect the framing underneath. With the wall down to the studs, we checked the structural members for dry rot before rebuilding the assembly back up the right way.
We installed 4-by-8 sheets of T1-11 across roughly 13 squares, wrapping the new panels with LP SmartSide 5/4-by-4 cedar-texture trim at the openings and corners. Before any siding went on, we ran a new Tyvek weather barrier over the wall and taped the seams to keep moisture out of the structure. The same elevation got ten windows and one slider swapped for Milgard Trinsic Series new-construction vinyl units, all fitted with the Low-E 366 glass coating and argon gas fill for better temperature control through hot summers and cool winters. To finish, we prepped and painted the new siding and the eaves so the wall reads as one consistent surface.
