Piedmont, California is located in the county of Alameda. It is a semi-suburban, mostly residential, small community. The community of Oakland completely surrounds Piedmont. According to the census that was taken in 2010, the population of Piedmont was some 10,667 people. The name Piedmont is derived from the area of Piedmont in Italy, which virtually means foothill. The PUSD (Piedmont Unified School District) includes two high schools, one middle school, and three elementary schools.
