We pulled off the old, worn siding down to the studs, then rebuilt the weather protection from the ground up. Paired with crisp Arctic White trim, the new fiber-cement gives the house a fresh, consistent look across every wall.
Before any new material went up, our crew inspected the wall framing for dry rot and replaced any compromised members with 2x4 framing and exterior-grade OSB sheathing to restore solid backing. From there we installed HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, added Forti-Flash rubberized flashing around every window and door opening, and ran metal z-flashing for layered moisture protection. The Statement Collection lap siding went on next, with 5/4-by-4 Hardie trim in smooth Arctic White on openings and corners and 5/4-by-6 trim framing both single garage doors.
To finish the job right, we swapped in Vulcan foundation vent covers for upgraded fire protection that meets high fire hazard area code, and painted the remaining gutters, fascias, downspouts, and foundation so everything reads as one cohesive exterior. Gates on both sides of the home were removed and reinstalled, and we put back downspouts and house numbers once the siding was complete.

We contracted with GVD Renovations to side our entire house with Hardie Plank siding. They were one of a few recommended contractors by the James Hardie company who were qualified to install Hardie Plank. When we met with Andy from GVD it was clear from the start that they were going to be the best fit for our project. Andy was very clear about what they would be doing, how the process worked, and what the time frame was going to be. He answered all questions during our meeting, and several that I had afterward. One of my big pet peeves are contractors that do not respond to calls/emails, but Andy and Vlad were always easy to reach during the project, returning calls in a timely fashion, and answering questions as they came up. The project was large, and there were some unexpected minor delays, but in the end our house is absolutely beautiful. They did a fantastic job, even going the extra mile and putting siding on our little door to the crawl space under our house. The siding has transformed our house's exterior and it now looks sleek and modern. I would definitely recommend GVD for their expertise in Hardie Plank siding.
