HardiePlank Siding & Milgard Windows in Petaluma, CA 94954

The homeowners here wanted to stop fighting failing siding on the busier sides of their Petaluma house and get a clean, low-maintenance exterior that would hold its color for years. We focused on the right and back walls, tearing off the old siding and trim down to the framing so we could rebuild the wall system properly. The finished result wraps those elevations in deep Evening Blue HardiePlank with crisp Arctic White trim, and eleven new windows plus a French door tighten up the whole envelope.

With the old siding off, our crew inspected the wall framing for dry rot and replaced any compromised sheeting with exterior-grade OSB. Where sheathing was thin or missing, we installed new 7/16-inch OSB for shear strength before any siding went up. From there we layered in a full moisture system: HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing around every window and door opening, and metal z-flashing. The siding is James Hardie ColorPlus lap from the Statement Collection in Evening Blue, finished with 5/4x4 Hardie trim in Arctic White around the four window openings and corners, and we painted the eaves to match.

For the windows, we installed Milgard Tuscany Series retrofit vinyl units throughout - eleven windows and a French door - fitted with Low-E 366 glass and argon gas for better insulation through Petaluma's warm summers and cool, damp winters. Once the siding and windows were in, we reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers and cleared the site of all debris.
