James Hardie Siding Installation in Rocklin, CA 95677
James Hardie's 8 1/4-inch Cedarmill lap siding gave this Rocklin home a fresh, fiber-cement exterior built to stand up to the area's hot, dry summers. We stripped the home down to the studs on the outside, hauling away every layer of the old siding and trim, then rebuilt the wall system from the sheathing out. The finished home wears Pearl Gray siding with crisp Arctic White trim - a clean two-tone look that holds its color far longer than paint.
Before the new siding went up, our crew inspected the framing and addressed dry rot found inside the wall cavities, replacing damaged structural members so the new exterior had a sound surface to attach to. We then wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and added metal z-flashing to keep moisture out of the joints. The Cedarmill panels carry a textured wood-grain finish, while 5/4x4 ColorPlus trim frames the windows, doors, and corners and 5/4x6 trim defines the double garage doors. Working safely across the home's high walls and hard-to-reach areas was a key part of the job.
