The house and two walls of the garage previously wore shingle siding, and our crew stripped that top layer off down to the existing vertical boards, which we kept in place as a solid underlayment for the new fiber cement. The result is a clean, uniform white envelope built to hold its color far longer than the old shingles ever could.
Before any siding went up, we inspected the wall framing and addressed dry rot we uncovered, replacing damaged structural members so the new system sat on sound material. From there our team wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal Z-flashing to keep moisture moving away from the assembly. The Statement Collection ColorPlus lap siding went on over that, trimmed at all openings and corners with matching 5/4-by-4 Arctic White Hardie trim for a consistent, monochromatic look.
To finish, we repainted the existing eaves, fascia, gutters, downspouts, and rafter tails, and brought the two unreplaced garage walls into the same scheme. Downspouts, house numbers, and other fixtures pulled for the install were reset once the siding was complete.

GVD replaced my siding on my bungalow home that was built in 1914. This project was extremely stressful for me and I was anxious about the results. I had no need to be concerned. The crew was great, worked efficiently and were respectful of my property. They cleaned up every night so that there was no garbage, dust or scraps laying around. Every night I would walk the project making sure it was being done the way I wanted. When I had concerns, I would text my project manager Vlad and he always responded ensuring me all my concerns would be addressed. I had some rafter tails that had extreme dry rot and I was going to have them wrapped with metal to save. I had told Vlad that I was going to replace them but by the time the work started (5 months later by my choice) that plan had changed. Imagine my shock when I came home one night and the tails had been cut off. I was devastated and very upset that I had not been consulted before something that provided character and was original to my home was gone. I called Vlad and he came out to my home. He told me that they could replace the rafter tails. Honestly, I was very sceptical. GVD came through big time! One of the guys made new ones that look exactly like the original and no dry rot! ;) My project did have hiccups and they were always a result of a lack of communication. But every single concern was addressed and resolved with no complaint from the crew! One day after my siding was completed, my water main broke. When it was replaced, the plumber left a eyesore in my beautiful siding (not his fault). I immediately texted Vlad asking if there was anything they could do to fix it. Alex was on-site a few days later to complete some caulking and paint touch ups and I came home to find he repaired the area. WOW! To say I was extremely happy is an understatement!!! I have NO regrets choosing GVD! I am beyond thrilled with my siding! Every one of my neighbors has complimented the work and share my opinion...my home turned out beautifu!
