Working on the tall walls and hard-to-reach sections of this Colfax home took real care, and our siding crew brought the right safety setup to handle the heights without cutting corners. We stripped the old exterior down, set a new moisture barrier behind everything, and rebuilt the walls in James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding. The finished result is a crisp, fire-rated exterior in Gray Slate that holds up to the climate at this elevation.
The siding comes from the Hardie Statement Collection in Gray Slate, trimmed out with 5/4-by-4 Arctic White HardieTrim around every window, door, and corner. Behind the boards we installed HardieWrap weather barrier, wrapped the openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal z-flashing for layered moisture protection. We finished the eaves with Cedar Mill soffit and fascia to meet Wildland Urban Interface requirements, added a Hardie porch ceiling at the entry, and painted the remaining stucco areas with premium Sherwin-Williams product.
