We stripped the exterior down to the framing and rebuilt the whole wall assembly, then matched it with 23 new windows and a sliding glass door so the look stays consistent all the way around. Our crew tore off the existing siding and skip sheathing down to the studs, inspected the structural members for dry rot, and re-sheathed the walls with new half-inch plywood and seven-sixteenths OSB for shear strength before passing the city nailing inspection. Over the new sheathing we installed HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at every window and door opening, and metal z-flashing to keep moisture out for good. For the openings we set Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl windows with the Infinit-e three-layer Low-E glass package and the Anlin Sound Package for added noise suppression - a meaningful upgrade given the window count. We power-washed and painted the eaves and fascia to match the ColorPlus finish, repainted the garage door, and reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers once the new siding was up.
