James Hardie Siding Remodel in Sacramento, CA 95831
James Hardie Plank in the CedarMill profile gave this 2005 Sacramento home a tougher, fiber-cement exterior that holds up to the valley's heat and seasonal weather far better than the original cladding. We re-sided every elevation, front to back, and finished it in Navajo Beige ColorPlus - a baked-on factory color paired with Timber Bark trim for a clean, two-tone look. As we pulled the old trim and siding, we replaced areas of siding along with new backing so the new walls had something solid to fasten to.
Before the new boards went up, our crew wrapped the home in James Hardie weather barrier and detailed the openings with Forti-Flash flashing to keep moisture out. The fascia trim runs 4 inches wide, and we painted the eaves, overhangs, fascia, and soffit so every surface tied into the new exterior. New 5-inch gutters and downspouts with LeafGuard-style leaf covers replaced the old drainage, and we hauled away the old deck boards from the back deck to clear the work area.
