James Hardie Siding Remodel in Foster City, CA 94404
The owners of this 1984 Foster City home wanted exterior cladding that would hold up to Foster City's coastal weather while giving the house a cleaner, more current look. We re-clad all four sides, including the garage, in James Hardie fiber-cement siding finished in Gray Slate, with crisp Arctic White trim framing every window and corner. The result is a low-maintenance exterior with a deep, cohesive color that suits the home far better than the original siding it replaced.
After tearing off the existing siding, our crew inspected the walls and addressed the dry rot we found before moving forward. We re-sheathed in OSB for added shear strength, wrapped the home in James Hardie weather barrier for moisture protection, and detailed every opening with Forti-Flash and z-flashing. The Hardie planks went on with 1x4 fiber-cement trim and 6/4 trim in Arctic White, all caulked and sealed for a tight finish. As part of the work we also installed a new window with its own header, and the back soffits were painted to tie the whole exterior together.
