James Hardie Siding & Eldorado Stone in Rescue, CA 95672
The homeowners here wanted a low-maintenance exterior with real texture and a more finished front elevation, and that's exactly what the new siding and stone deliver. We started by setting up safety staging to reach the high walls, then pulled off the old brick across the front along with the existing trim around the windows, doors, and corners on the front and rear of the home. On the south side, we removed trim and inspected the T1-11 underneath, replacing the sections that showed dry rot before prepping it for paint. The result is a Rescue home with a crisp, layered face built from materials made to hold up to the foothill climate.
For the front and the rear wall, we installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection over a HardieWrap weather barrier, with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing wrapping every window and door opening for permanent moisture protection. Smooth Hardie 5/4-by-4 trim frames the openings and corners, and 5/4-by-6 trim defines the double garage door. A 29-inch wainscot of Eldorado Stone runs across the front in a ledgestone look rather than brick, giving the base of the home depth and a natural stacked-stone face. Where we uncovered structural issues during demo, our crew rebuilt the framing and re-sheathed with exterior-grade OSB for solid backing.
To tie the whole exterior together, we color-matched paint to the Statement Collection and refinished the T1-11 on the north and south sides, the trim, the eaves and fascia, the garage door, the foundation, and the downspouts. The matching Tuff Shed got the same treatment so the property reads as one cohesive look.

GVD Renovations replaced the siding and trim on two sides of our house with Hardie Board. They did an excellent job of repairing and replacing dry rot on the rest of the house. They also replaced brick trim with stone work. The whole process - from initial meeting to site visit to scheduling and work done - was professional. The three-man crew were very attentive to details and we were impressed with their skills for each job they did. The crew were neat, respectful, cleaned up at the end of each workday, and were true craftsmen. We have received many compliments on how the house looks, and the county inspector was impressed with the crew's detailed work. We highly recommend GVD Renovations!
