Crisp white walls now wrap this San Rafael home from the foundation up through the gables and chimney, giving the whole exterior a clean, finished look that holds up to the wet North Bay climate. We stripped the house down to the studs on the outside, replaced every window, and rebuilt the deck and balcony systems so the home reads bright and tight from the driveway to the rooftop sections. The Arctic White siding and matching trim pull the structure together, and the new Anlin glass brightens the rooms behind them.
Our crew tore off all the existing siding and trim down to the sheathing, then inspected the wall framing for dry rot and made structural repairs where decay was found before any new material went up. We installed HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at every window and door opening, and a metal z-flashing system for long-term moisture protection. James Hardie ColorPlus Statement Collection lap siding went on in Arctic White, finished with 5/4-by-6 trim at the garage doors and corners and 5/4-by-4 trim around the windows and doors. We provided and installed twenty-two sections of Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl windows along with Malibu sliding glass doors, including six casement windows, and framed a new bay window at the master bedroom using shear-wall construction per code.
Beyond the siding and glass, we rebuilt the home's outdoor living spaces. The entry deck, hot tub deck, stairs, and three balcony decks were taken down to the cantilevers and girders and rebuilt, with new decking and railing systems. We also painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation to match the trim color, then reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers once siding was complete.
