James Hardie Lap Siding Installation in Petaluma, CA 94954
Set in a Petaluma neighborhood off the 101 corridor, this home traded its aging horizontal siding for a crisp Evening Blue exterior trimmed in clean Cobble Stone. The deep blue field gives the house a fresh, modern presence, while the lighter trim frames every window, door, and corner. Our crew handled the high gable walls and hard-to-reach areas where the original siding had run its course, leaving behind a tighter, better-protected shell.
We tore off the existing horizontal siding at the gables and removed the old trim around all doors, windows, and corners on the walls being re-clad. With the walls open, our team inspected the framing for dry rot and repaired the damaged areas we found before any new material went up. From there we wrapped the home in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed the openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal Z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. The new James Hardie Statement Collection lap siding went on in Evening Blue, with 5/4-by-4 ColorPlus trim on the openings and corners and 5/4-by-6 ColorPlus trim around the double garage doors.
To finish the look, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation along the perimeter, then added a new storm door at the garage side entry. Downspouts and house numbers removed during the work were reinstalled, and all debris was hauled off at completion.
