The owners of this Carmichael home wanted to retire their aging wood T-111 siding and single-pane windows in one coordinated exterior project, and the finished result gives the house a clean, low-maintenance shell from top to bottom. We stripped the old wood siding down to the framing, rebuilt the front and side porches in composite decking, and wrapped the walls in insulated vinyl backed by a fresh weather barrier. New retrofit windows throughout tightened up the home's energy performance at the same time.

Before any new material went up, our crew pulled all the existing trims around the doors, windows, and corners and inspected the T-111 and wall framing for hidden dry rot. Where we found damaged sheathing, we cut it out and replaced it with new exterior-grade OSB to restore a solid, flat nailing surface, and budgeted framing repairs for any rotted 2x4 members. Tyvek weather barrier with taped seams went on next for moisture protection, followed by Alside Prodigy Next Generation insulated vinyl siding with J-channel detailing around every opening. Downspouts and house numbers were reinstalled once the siding was complete.

For the glazing package we installed twenty-one Milgard Tuscany Series premium retrofit vinyl windows plus a single 36-inch in-swing Tuscany French door. Every unit carries Milgard's Low-E 366 glass with argon gas, a combination that pushes well past state and federal energy-efficiency targets in both summer heat and winter cold. The two small porches and the front porch deck were demolished and rebuilt in Trex-style composite for a finished, weather-resistant surface.
