James HardiePanel Vertical Siding in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523
Working on the back and left elevations of this Pleasant Hill home meant tackling tall walls and tight access, so our crew set up the right staging and safety rigging before a single board came down. The original tin siding on these faces had run its course, and we replaced it with a clean vertical layout that gives the house a sharper, more current profile. Care during the install showed up in the small things - straight reveals, tight trim miters, and consistent flashing details that hold up over time.
After tearing off the old siding and removing the existing trims around windows, doors, and corners, we inspected the wall framing and addressed dry rot where we found it. From there the crew wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed window and door openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. We then installed James HardiePanel vertical siding from the Statement Collection finished in Arctic White, with 5/4-by-4 HardieTrim in the same color framing the openings and corners. Downspouts and house numbers pulled during the work were reset once the new siding was up.
