This Davis kitchen was transformed from a closed-off, soffited layout into a bright, open hub for the entire first floor. GVD Renovations removed the wall between the dinette and living room, tore out the dated tile counters and oak soffits, and reworked the adjacent wet bar into a dedicated wine cellar finished with a new interior French door and matching trim. The result is a kitchen that now breathes into the living area rather than hiding behind it.

The new design is built around Diamond semi-custom Shaker cabinetry paired with custom quartz countertops from the Blue slab collection. A farm-style sink, dual-fuel range, and chimney hood anchor the cook zone, while an Anlin Coronado garden window over the sink pulls natural light directly onto the counters. Ten new recessed LED cans — six in the kitchen layout, four in the adjoining living area — replaced the original single fixture, and the dinette chandelier was repositioned for the new open plan. Throughout the downstairs, original tile was swapped for luxury vinyl plank with new baseboards for a warmer, continuous feel from room to room.
