T1-11 Siding Installation and Window Replacement in San Rafael, CA 94901

T1-11 panels were the right call for this San Rafael home, matching the existing siding texture and grain while standing up to the exposure on the upper-level walls. We installed the siding on the upper-level walls, working off proper safety setups to reach those high, hard-to-access walls. The result is clean, continuous cedar-texture siding that reads as original to the house but is fully re-sealed against weather.

Behind the new panels, our crew opened the walls to inspect the framing, then repaired the dry rot we uncovered before any new material went on. A fresh Tyvek weather barrier with taped seams now wraps the walls for moisture protection, with new 4-by-8 sheets of T1-11 installed over the top. Around every opening and corner we set LP 540 Series Cedar Texture 5/4-by-4 trim to match the existing style. On the window side of the project we installed Milgard Trinsic Series vinyl windows as new construction, reframing two-window openings into single-window systems and raising the height of the six living room windows. We finished by reinstalling the downspouts and house numbers and hauling away all the debris.
