James Hardie Siding Remodel in Orinda, CA 94563
The exterior of this Orinda home now reads crisp and uniform in Arctic White, with clean lines around every window, door, and corner. We re-clad the main house in James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding and wrapped the openings and corners in matching Hardie Artisan trim, giving the whole façade a sharper, more architectural look than the worn surface it replaced. The three-car garage area got the same treatment, tying the entry and garage elevations together.
Before any new board went up, our crew stripped the old siding and trim, hauled the debris off-site, and inspected the wall framing for hidden dry rot, repairing damaged sheathing with exterior-grade OSB where needed. We then installed HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, set Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at the window and door openings, and added metal Z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. The lap siding came from James Hardie's Statement Collection in Arctic White, finished with 5/4-by-6 Artisan trim in the same Arctic White, and we painted the eaves, fascia, garage doors, and foundation to complete the perimeter. Because this work happened on tall walls and hard-to-reach elevations, the team set up pump jacks and full safety staging to handle the height safely.

Very impressed with GVD from initial communications to the quote to the project start and project close out. As this was going to be a really large purchase for me, I did a ton of research throughout the greater Bay Area, and I went with GVD because I felt they were the highest quality contractors with a reasonable price. Definitely not the lowest price out there, but as a significant 30+ year investment I was willing to pay more for quality. Vlad and his team were great, and I felt comfortable having them working on my home even when nobody was home. Overall, would recommend highly.
