Alside Ascend Composite Cladding Siding Installation in Concord, CA 94518
The homeowners here wanted a low-maintenance exterior that looked like real wood without the upkeep that comes with it, and the finished home delivers exactly that. We stripped the house down to the studs on every wall, took off the old siding and trim, and rebuilt the exterior with the Alside Ascend Composite Cladding system in a 7-inch plank profile. The new Cape Cod Gray finish gives this Concord home a clean, consistent look that holds up to weather and sun.
Because this was a full tear-off, our crew was able to inspect the wall framing directly. Where we found dry rot, we repaired and replaced the damaged members before moving forward. New half-inch plywood sheathing went up across the resided walls for shear strength, followed by a Tyvek weather barrier with taped seams to keep moisture out. We packed the stud cavities with Owens Corning R-13 fiberglass insulation, then installed the Ascend cladding along with matching Ascend trim around every window, door, and corner. The composite panels carry a Class A fire rating, a reinforced nail hem rated for high wind loads, and the look of milled wood grain.
To finish the job, we painted the eaves, fascia, and foundation around the perimeter, along with the rear patio overhang ceiling and post, the automatic garage door, and the man door. Downspouts, house numbers, and other fixtures we removed for the siding work were reinstalled, and all debris was hauled off.
